This is Easton's afghan, I have made one for each of my children. I told Easton it would be done by his birthday and it was. I worked on his periodically over the past 6 months. It is knit out of Caron's simply soft. This is a very nice washable yarn if considering making something this large. The yarn is also affordably priced. The blanket shown is folded in half and is very large. I single crocheted the edging and I thought it was going to take a quick minute....think again it seemed like it took me hours. It is done though and has been washed more than once already. He loves it and it seems to be very warm.
